About Us

Ashby Bears & Collectables is situated in the historic market town of Ashby de-la Zouch in Leicestershire, UK.

Our store is set in rustic surroundings with period furniture and accessories including old toys, rocking horses and pedal cars. We specialise in traditional style bears from leading manufacturers and bear artists from the UK, Europe and the USA. Plus hand built white metal models from one of the worlds leading manufacturers, Brooklin and Lansdowne. Ashby Bears are completely dedicated to your total satisfaction. Our opening hours vary depending on the time of the year. Please check our web site home page for details or call to confirm our opening times before travelling.

If you wish to purchase any of our bears, please give us a call to check availability before hand. Alternatively,you can now shop On-line using our secure server. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Maestro.

Making A Purchase

Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our Catalog, and click on any items that you wish to buy and put them into the shopping basket. After you have finished your selection, click on "checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.

We accept Visa, Mastercard Maestro/Switch and Solo. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Back ordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, or over the Internet. On International orders, we may ask for cleared funds by cheque or money order etc, before goods are dispatched.

If any of the items you require are out of stock, we will contact you by phone or e-mail to give you an expected delivery date. You can decide at this time whether to choose another product, wait for the item to arrive, or cancel the order.

At Ashby Bears, we appreciate that some items for your collection are not always affordable.

Therefore to help our customers, we are now offering you our 'Easy Payment Option'.

Note: Restrictions apply on certain sale and reduced items. Ashby Bears loyalty discount cannot be used in conjunction with the Easy Payment Scheme.

Delivery Charges

DELIVERIES TO UK MAINLAND*

Our current promotion is FREE Economy Saver delivery on most orders to UK Mainland (exclutions apply on oversize or overweight shipments and most sale items)

In this instance, you will be emailed with the delivery charge for your acceptance.

For 'In Stock items' using our Free 'economy saver' option, please allow up to 21 days for delivery. These deliveried are normally sent by Royal Mail 2nd class and will require a signature.

Note: Economy Saver packing and dispatch will be done as soon as possible but customers selecting to pay for a higher class of delivery service will be given priority. That is the only fair way.

UK Mainland customers can also select Royal Mail 1st Class at £1.95. Delivery times will be quicker than Economy Saver but this is still down to the Royal Mail Service in your area.

If your order is more urgent, please select Priority shipping which is sent using 24 hour service by Royal Mail Special Delivery, or 24 hour courier, depending on the parcel weight.

This service is only delivered Monday to Friday and we do our very best to send orders the same day if you order by 1pm. (please note that this is not guaranteed). There are only a few of us!

Delivery charges to other area's are as follows:

Northern Ireland, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Man, and the Channel Islands:

Economy Delivery = £4.95 and Priority Delivery = £8.95.

(exclutions apply on oversize or overweight shipments and some sale items)

In this instance, you will be emailed with the delivery charge for your acceptance.

Your delivery charge will be calculated when you go to the checkout, where you will have the option to accept the total charge, before your order is confirmed.

If the automatic charge calculations are deemed excessive, we will reduce the shipping charge manually before charging you for the order. This reduction is solely at our discretion.

INTERNATIONAL DELIVERIES

We are happy to deliver outside the UK. Obviously, the charges are dependant on the country concerned. We will do our best to obtain a speedy delivery charge and notify you by email as soon as possible.

Your invoice will default to a shipping charge of £20.00 This will be altered after your acceptance of any extra delivery charges that you will be notified of.

Tax and Duty Fees:

Your country may charge additional taxes or duties on your order when it enters your country. You are responsible for paying any additional charges.

Delivery Schedule

We do our best to dispatch your order right away, subject to credit card authorisation and the goods being in stock. Most UK purchases are sent by Royal Mail Special Delivery or next day courier. Please contact us for International orders, or any specific delivery requests. Call us at 01530 564444

Back Orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait. Many items on the web site are not currently in stock but are expected on our next stock delivery. Some items are special order from the manufacturer. Because of this, we may take a deposit and charge the remainder when the item has arrived and is ready to be shipped out to you. This deposit is not refundable on these items should you cancel the order. If the order is cancelled and we have not taken a deposit, we reserve the right to make a 10% charge to cover our charges and administration.

Tax Charges

All prices include vat. were applicable.

Credit Card Security

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card numbers are encrypted in the software when the order is placed using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.

Guarantee

At Ashby Bears we try our best to operate the most honest and efficient teddy bear web site in the UK.

Product descriptions are usually taken from the manufacturers detailed specifications for their products and prices. We cannot be held responsible for changes or alterations to specific product descriptions and/or prices. Any errors in pricing or details will be pointed out to the customer by email prior to dispatching the order. Orders will not be dispatched until acceptance confirmation is received from the customer.

Privacy Policy

Ashby Bears do not disclose buyers information to third parties. Data collected by this site is used to:

a. Take and fulfill customer orders

b. Administer and enhance the site and service

c. Notify customers of new products and special offers

d. Only disclose information to third-parties for goods delivery purposes

Returns Policy

The nature of our business includes many rare items including one off pieces.

Should you wish to return anything bought from us, we will be happy to refund or exchange a product provided it is in fully resaleable condition and in original, undamaged packaging.

Returned items will not be accepted, if they are received by us in imperfect condition (including smoking aroma) and not in their original packaging.

Faulty items must be reported to us within 3 days of delivery. We will then issue a returns reference and arrange a refund or replacement as appropriate to that particular item.

The customer has 7 days to return any unwanted item at their own expense.

Please note that Special, made to order items, e.g. Artist Bears, Steiff Studio Animals etc. are non returnable.

In the unusual event of an item being returned, the customer will be refunded, less our postage and packing costs. If our postage and packaging costs exceeded the postage paid by the customer, we will deduct the difference from the refund.

Obviously, some pieces cannot be exchanged with an identical product due to the low production numbers on many items.

Common sense will prevail in any instance of this nature.

Remittance Terms

All orders must be paid for in full before any orders are dispatched. Payment can be made by Visa, Mastercard, Maestro or Switch.
